Peter Brown, Artist
Peter Brown is a Bath based artist, an all weather painter of street scenes and landscapes of cities such as Edinburgh, Cambridge, Oxford, Bath and London. He works in charcoal, oil and pastel. Known for working directly from his subject throughout the year, he is more affectionately known as 'Pete the Street'. He sells his work exclusively through his agent, Messum's, 8 Cork Street, London, W1S 3LJ (Tel: +4420 7437 5545).
Peter is currently working towards two major exhibitions:
The first is his 9th solo exhibition at Messums and his largest to date. It will consist of his continuing travels across the U.K. from Mersea Island in the East to Fowey, Cornwall in the west, his further explorations of London, some large works from his Indian travels and sketches from his most recent family holiday trips to the Loire and his latest passion: Barcelona. The exhibition will run over four weeks at Messum's Cork Street gallery from the 20th November to the 24th December 2013.The second exhibition, at the Victoria Art Gallery, Bath Peter continues his relationship with his adopted home city of Bath where he spreads away from the city centre to the countryside and villages that surround. The working title for the exhibition is "Keeping the Home Fires Burning" and runs from 8th February to 27th March 2014 at the Victoria Art Gallery, Bridge Street, Bath, BA2 4AT Tel: +44 (0)1225 477233.
